Phosphatidylserine (PS) has been shown to decrease cortisol and has been used successfully for that. I also like using it after intense workout, so I can lower my cortisol ASAP.
Unfortunately, Seriphos can't claim the same thing. I think marketers are trying to find cheaper derivatives of PS, because a theraputic dose of PS is 800mg. which if taken in proper doses can be quite expensive. Typical PS costs about $70.00, which ususally is only for about 100mg PS and other assortment of nutrients.
Stick with PS if you think it will help, but I don't think I would waste my time with the Seriphos.
You're right on target, I would recommend using PS for those people who are in the early stages of adrenal exhaustion and they are making TOO MUCH cortisol in response to all their stress.
Don't get me wrong, I like PS, unfortunately the theraputic dose that confirmed all the positive effect of PS were done with much higher amounts of PS that what you find on the shelves, merely because of expense.
I use Seriphos and have for three years off and on depending on my test. It does clam me down and if I take it one hour before the high at noon it helps a lot. So is my case so much different than AAron's above posted April 22. I can afford the PS you talked about to Aaron. Would I be considered in stage 2? I have other issues like my Siga was depressed and my gliadin was negative. You see my Dr. has gone over these numbers but does little to explain them or show and changes in treating? Also my Insulin fast was 16 on scale of 3-12 so it showed hyperinsulinic yet my blood fast was in range at 92 where they said under 120 was ok. Boy I,m confused? Post prandial was normal. But my DHEA again was 3 or borderline. But the progestine was 38 normal This was done by Diagnos-Tech Labs 4/3/09 My cortisol burden was 26 in range of 23-42 ?????
