Does any form of weight training lead to an increase in cortisol ? I used to do intense weight training in the past but, due to my adrenal fatigue, i just do one day for biceps only, another for triceps, another for calves and maybe one for shoulders. I try to get muscular growth so of course i go a bit heavy but its better than doing back and biceps one day and let say, chest and triceps on another. In otherwords, i spread it out and only do small body parts as you can see from what i have written. Is it ok what i am doing i.e. small body parts...in spite of doing this, i had an energy crash about 2 weeks ago and now just taking it easy. i never seem to get a really refreshing sleep as i wake several times during the night so maybe i am just using up what small energy reserves i have training, even if just small body parts..does this make sense ?

Any type of intense exercise will cause your cortisol and adrenaline to elevate. The longer and harder the workout...the more cortisol and adrenaline will be produced. so yes, shorter workouts will help, but to use an analogy about adrenal fatigue...and a somewhat full cup of water. how many drops of water will it take to cause the cup to overflow? Is it only 10 drops or 250 drops. The point is depending on how badly your adrenals are exhausted needs to be taken into consideration.
