I'm gonna see my GP tomorrow. He put me on Citalopram (20 mg morning) and Mirtazapine (15 mg before bed) before I went to him and I was having difficulty to stay asleep, anxiety, photo sensitivity, fasciculation and I was feeling tired especially after 6 pm. I've been on AD for 3 months now and I feel a bit better but I had the impression that my adrenal was the problem after this test.
I had a neurological check and it was negative. I had also an MRI scan to my head and nothing come out.
hi, cmpn76....i was having difficulty getting to sleep and i was also given Mirtazapine...it worked brilliantly but, like all antidepressants, i am putting on a little weight as a result hence i dont always take it...i got addicted to ambien and was given the mirtazapine instead...now i dont always take medication..i have adrenal fatigue and my daily total cortisol was low at 9.6 and is now about 17...so getting better....i just wish i didnt keep waking every two hours...by the way, i dont think Dr L answers on this site any longer
All I can tell you is that your adrenals look exhausted. What you have been doing to yourself to get you there I don't know so being able to give you specific help is not possible only general information, which you might already have, but here are a few Big Rocks you need to address.
YOu can't overcome adrenal fatigue and exhaustion if you can't keep your blood sugar stable!!!
So, your dietary choices are very important....I don't know what you eat so that is all i can say there.
The fact that you can't stay asleep...tells me that blood sugar and your inablity to keep it stable is a major factor and needs to be addressed. As to how many people who have told me my diet is fine and then when we do a consult we have to change their diet...because their diet isn't right...so that needs to be addressed.
You need to nourish your adrenals, I like using the Adrenal Tincture (liquid herbs) for faster recovery than pills. You also needs some DHEA and Pregnenolone to help you get through everything, until your adrenals are strong enough to make these hormones on their own.
Finally, you will never, never, never get your hormones balanced (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone) if your adrenals are exhausted.
One more thing...if your digestive system is not working properly...it is another thing further taxing your adrenals and holding you back,
