Fiona, I have seen a lot of endometriosis and have learned that its best to look at the obvious symptoms and remedies first before looking for the not so common problems. Yes, copper could be the problem, but before you waste any time and money on a protocol that may not Address the Root Cause....I would first look at. How is her digestive system functioning? Is she struggling with digestive problems? If so...fix that first! How is her blood sugar? Does she skip meals or eat refined, processed foods or soft drinks on a regular basis? If so, fix that because it could further throw those hormones out of balance. How is the stress in her life? If her adrenals are exhausted...it can really work a number on those hormones and further exacerbate her problems! Has she been on birth control pills, steriod hormones or taking rounds of antiboitics...as an adult or child? This could really throw off the balance of your 'good' and 'bad' bacteria in her gut...which exacerbates her problems! Does she have regular bowel movements? Does she intake enough good or essential fatty acids, such as omega 3's, lots of nuts and seeds, fish and eat food that is cooked with olvie oil? or does she consume lots of trans fatty acids? Does she get regular exercise? Does she drink lots of water? Plenty of sunshine? 7-9 hours of good sleep? If all the above questions are No...you could probably move on to the copper protocol....but if you answered 'yes' I would begin to follow our Healthy Steps Program...and start addressing the cause, and start restoring normal function back to her body, before you waste more time and money and something that may not address the true cause. I hope that helps and moves you in the right direction, let us know if you want us to help get her moving in the right direction. Dr. Len
