If you want to get the most out of your workout – focus on your diet! Did you know that about 15-20% of the results you get from your actual workout are due to Rest and Recovery?
About 60-70% of your results come from your Diet and only about 15-20% of your workout results will actually come from your Workout.
So, yes it is important to workout…but pay attention to the things that are going to give you the biggest return…and that’s your diet.
This is why it is smarter for most people to stick with short, intense workouts and not abuse their body by trying to squeeze in a tough workout, without also allotting the necessary rest and diet to compliment your workout.
Let me say one of the most important things to say about diet – is DIGESTION. If you are struggling with bloating, gas, indigestion, heartburn, reflux, etc? You need to fix your digestive issues if you want to reap the benefits of your workout. You can’t absorb and utilize all that protein you are eating if your digestive system is sending you signals that your digestive system is in chaos.
How do you expect to nourish and strengthen your body – if your digestive system is all inflamed and can’t absorb the protein? If you get all gassy and bloated after eating a protein rich meal, that’s a good sign that you don’t have enough hydrochloric acid, which is needed to breakdown protein.
FYI. Don’t be confused in thinking that swallowing antacids or acid blocking medications means you have No Digestive issues.
